I’ve recently teamed up with a friend and fellow radio enthusiast Mark Lamb, to form an online respite for those who love music from the 1970s. Rock, Top 40, Pop; you name it from the 70s, and we’re playing it. Hosted through Live365.com, it’s 24 hours of everything from Deep Purple to Carol King. Disco fan? Super70sRadio has some Abba and Kool & The Gang too. Also, high school graduates from days past will want to look into ReunionRadio. It’s an upcoming online or distributed CD service that you and your fellow graduating class will enjoy. from Check out Super70sRadio.com and see what’s happening.

We’ve always specialized in recording local high school band and choir concerts in the Lynchburg, VA area. Some of the schools include Jefferson Forest High School, Forest Middle School, E.C. Glass High School, Alleghany High School in Covington,VA, and Northside High School in Roanoke, VA.

Recently we put together Northside High School’s second marching band season CD. If you’re in the Central Virginia area, contact us and we’ll get your recording professionally mastered.

In July of 2007 I reviewed Sony Sound Forge 9.0 for Radio Magazine. Sony quoted me on their site. CLICK HERE and look on the left side of the page to see the quote.

I recently had a rental vehicle that was equipped with Sirius Satellite Radio. BOOOOO. While terrestrial radio may have some static, splatty highs, and signal fluctuation issues, it still beats the tar out of the aliasing and artifacting heard on satellite radio. Actually, XM isn’t much better either. However, Sirius now wins the “Worst Sounding Satellite Radio Award” given by the folks at Audio Concepts. As far as my radio listening goes, I’ll take static, EAS interruptions, and even commercial breaks over the nasty audio on Sirius and XM. Essentially, satellite radio is not for the audiophile, just yet.

The new Audio Concepts studios are nearly finished. This is the control room. The recording studio will be next. There obviously needs to be a window installed…
